Midsummer HA selects The Guinness Trust for Group structure talks
Midsummer Housing Association and The Guinness Trust have agreed to commence detailed discussions about Midsummer joining the Guinness Trust Group. Based in Central Milton Keynes, Midsummer, a leading specialist in Affordable Home Ownership, would provide LCHO advice and support to the Group whilst continuing to develop and manage its own stock in and around the MK/ South Midlands growth area.
Robin Burn, Chief Executive of Midsummer explained that:
“ The primary motivation for our discussions is to ensure that Midsummer can continue to improve services and opportunities for its residents, staff and the communities in which we operate. We are an ambitious organisation and we believe that being part of a larger group structure will allow us to provide even more affordable homes and higher quality services whilst achieving the efficiencies to which all effective businesses aspire.”
Under the proposed arrangements, Midsummer, already a programme partner with the Housing Corporation, will become a subsidiary of The Guinness Trust and form part of the Group PPA bid this summer. The discussions are subject to detailed due diligence, Housing Corporation and other regulatory approvals. Subject to these, it is anticipated that Midsummer will formally join The Guinness Trust Group in Spring 2006.
