From the moment we made the final decision to embark on this challenging adventure at the beginning of September, it’s been non-stop madness. As much of what we are doing is raising money to help Shelter do its work in the UK, Midsummer has been able to sponsor us the initial registration fee to send us on our way. Now it’s all systems go to raise the £6,000. We’ve got to get 80% of it by 7 February 2007, so we’ve set about devising a very busy fundraising schedule to ensure that we can do it. We’ve also asked everyone we know to see if they can support us through our personal fundraising site. It’s only been a couple of weeks and already we’re almost a tenth of the way there. Some of our colleagues, friends and family have got the ball rolling for us, and with corporate sponsorship from one of our surveyors Robert Martell & Partners and Rob Wyatt Photography, we’re hoping many more will follow suit before the year is out.
Our registration packs have arrived and are packed full of instructions regarding immunisations and protection. Not sure if this is a good time to tell everyone about my massive phobia of needles…
