Rewarding bright young sparks with financial help at university
Two lucky young residents of the Guinness Trust Group, of which Midsummer is a member, will be rewarded with £1,000 towards the cost of going to university this year.
The Patricia Boyd Prize is given in memory of Lady Boyd, who was for many years a member of the Guinness Board of Trustees. The aim of the prize is to encourage and assist young people who have done exceptionally well at school or college and wish to go on to higher education.
This year the award consists of two prizes of £1000 for the two best candidates.
Applications will be considered from any applicants who are Guinness Group residents that are 19 years old or under, on 31 July 2006, and will be able to provide evidence of their A-level (or equivalent) results. The Guinness Trust Group includes Midsummer Housing Association, Parchment, Kennet Housing Society and Clapton Community Housing Trust.
If you or someone you know, wished to apply for an award, please contact Carol Levin at the Guinness Trust on 01494 607307, or you can e-mail her on carol.levin@guinness.org.uk, to get an application form.
The deadline for completed applications is 31 October 2006.
