Midsummer gets a great new look and enters the Guinness Trust Group

More affordable homes and even better housing services will be coming to Milton Keynes thanks to Midsummer joining forces with a national housing group.

Officially entering into the Guinness Group structure on Monday 3 April 2006, Midsummer and Guinness staff marked the occasion with a special celebration on Friday 31 March, launching a new Midsummer brand and logo at the same time.

Retaining their name, head office location and full compliment of staff, Midsummer has welcomed this change as an excellent opportunity to provide better homes and housing services to meet the growing demand in and around Milton Keynes

Maggie Sherlock, Chief Executive at Midsummer has been a key driving force behind the Group partnership.

“Our customers and stakeholders will benefit from our partnership with the Guinness Group, which increases our range of development and regeneration skills and opportunities, reduces costs through better procurement and allows us to share our expertise in affordable home ownership across the Group. Most importantly, it will provide us with an even stronger local presence,” she says.

The new Group structure sees around 1,300 Guinness homes transferring to Midsummer’s management over the next year, expanding Midsummer’s current housing stock to nearly 6,000 homes.
